What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 100% refund of the reservation if canceled 14 days before check-in and 50% if canceled 7 days before check-in. Optional Extras, such as meals and other specialties are non-refundable 72 hours from the time of scheduled reservation.

 

Where is the closest restaurant?

We get this question a lot. First, we offer the opportunity for our guests to book farm-to-table meals during their stay. Simply let us know before your arrival if you would like to add this to your reservation, for which day, and how many people, and be sure to alert us of any food allergies. Second, Goochland, Gordonsville, and Henrico are the closest towns that offer a nice selection of restaurants 20 minutes from the retreat. Just ask and we'll be happy to share a list of our favorites!

 

Does the country house have air conditioning?

Yes. It has central air conditioning, forced air electric heat, and a gas fireplace.

 

Are pets allowed?

No. Pets are not allowed on-site without the approval of the owner.

Is smoking allowed?

No. This is a smoke-free environment.

Is it handicapped-accessible?

Currently, we do not have an access ramp; however, there are only 5 steps to access the front door.

 

What types of wildlife are in the area?

Yes. Central Virginia is home to all the wildlife that would normally be found in woodland, fields, and forest. Frequently seen wildlife includes deer, turkey, rabbits, birds, and an occasional fox.

Are there activities nearby?

Yes. Go to the "Nearby Attractions" tab and you will find a list of things to do.

Can we see the stars at night?

Absolutely Yes. On a clear night, the stars are stunning as there is no ambient light from any neighbors or towns. In addition, the sound you may hear is the occasional barking or the hoot of an owl.

 

Do you have bicycles for your guests?

No, not at present but you can bring your bikes if you are traveling by car.

Where is the nearest hospital?

The nearest hospital is University Hospital in Charlottesville, VA which is 30 minutes away.  There is also Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA (emergency room open 24 hours).
